Sayonara Instinct
So today was my first day out of instinct HQ. A few weeks back I gave my 2 weeks notice and handed in my Lead Developer Role for the Instinct Crew. Before the rumors start spreading, this has no reflection on the dynamics of the team, I enjoyed my time at Instinct. Learning the ropes from the previous Lead Developer (@macropipier) who taught me the basics of WordPress, WordPress Plugin Development and SVN. Dan Sensei Milward who showed me a lucrative way to run a WordPress dedicated business that adheres to the GPL. I also loved teaching and training the new staff on how things roll when it comes to user support, PHP development, Plugin Development and the way to work with the WordPress Plugin Repository.
After 2 years working at Instinct, there is a sadness to leaving my colleagues behind, but I want to extend my knowledge in Web Development, I feel like I understand a lot about developing and releasing Plugins, however I feel like I’m missing out, I’ve probably been into over 1000 websites helping them fix their WordPress and WP e-Commerce problems, but I haven’t completed a website from start to finish for a while, even though I know clients can be hell. I think you learn a lot from completing a website. I guess it’s like comparing apples and oranges really. I guess what it comes down to is I felt like a change.
I have been planning on leaving for a while now, as I plan on traveling around South East Asia and Europe starting in May. However I have pushed my leave date forward so I can accommodate some new clients and sort out my life (and visas) before it is too late.
I will still be contributing to the WP e-Commerce Project, you may still see me on the Support Forums, Google Code Bug Tracker, and in the Trac fixing Bugs
and I will be doing one day a week for the Instinct Family for another month.
Best jeff

It’s been great working with you over the last few years on the WPEC project Jeff.
You’ve spent many thousands of hours more than I have on WPEC.
I think its safe to say that we’ll all be having a party once 3.8 is released
James
You will be missed my friend! Not just at Instinct either.
That said… it was time for you to go out there and blossom! Remember. When the time is right, get rid of all the clients, make and sell premium Plugins, maybe with us, maybe without us, either way it will free you
